Dear Friend,
The mission statement of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is Save Lives and Bring Hope to Those Affected by Suicide. I will do my part to bring hope to those affected by suicide by running in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 8, 2023, as a member of the AFSP Race for Hope team.
I will be running in memory of my cousin, James O'Connell, who took his life. Our family has been deeply affected by his passing and I want to do anything in support of those affected by suicide. More info can be found on their page, https://www.jpo.foundation/.
You can help bring hope to all of us that have been touched by suicide by contributing to my fundraiser. The money I raise for AFSP will fund scientific research, educate the public about mood disorders and suicide prevention, promote policies and legislation that impact suicide, and support survivors of suicide loss and people at risk. AFSP’s work, like my training and the race itself, is a marathon that will take perseverance, dedication and sacrifice.
